about me

I started writing as a hobby about 3 years ago - my first attempt is still a work-in-progress (Crimson Chrysalis). I intend to get back to finishing that book as soon as I've finished "Peter".
I have written 3 short children's stories (mainly for my daughter), all set at Christmas and which involve the same characters each year. (These stories are called: Bother, The Lost Reindeer)
I apologise if I'm ever over critical when leaving comments, I know my own work may be less than perfect.

I've lost count of the books I've read, but like many different authors: Tom Clancy, Craig Thomas, Dan Simmons, Stephen Donaldson, Tom Holt.. and loads more.

I like to read almost anything - currently soldiering through 2666 by Roberto Bolano

favourite books

The Shadow of the Wind - hooked after two paragraphs.
Anything by Tom Holt
Most horror / sci-fi / fantasy books
Birographies - Barack Obama, Pele, Stuart Pearce, Nelson Mandela.

Mr Frewster

3 short stories set on Christmas Eve, involving a reindeer called Bother, a little girl called Amy and their adventures.

All the books about Bother, the Lost Reindeer, are set at Christmas and bring back the true feeling of a magical Christmas we all felt as children. The books are written for adults/parents to read to young children.

the first story is about a little girl called Amy who wakes on Christmas Eve and realises that she has forgotten to ask Santa for a special doll for Christmas.
Amy then meets a lost reindeer who helps her wish come true.

book two is about amy wishing for snow at christmas and meets a tiger who has never seen snow before

book three has Amy visiting her aunt and uncle, and where bother, and a magical horse takes Amy for a ride to somewhere special.

(I apologise, but I've had to put book three twice, as this was the only way to get over the 10,000 word limit)

Peter

Mr Frewster

Peter is no one. Peter is just ordinary, until he's thrown into a battle of good versus evil and finds out he's more than special.

Peter - just an ordinary chap, but when he wakes up one morning to the blissful silence of his broken alarm clock, Peter knows he's doomed. With his day going from bad to worse, Peter must fight a battle against evil and in doing so, discovers a secret hidden within himself and that perhaps, just perhaps, he's not so ordinary after all.

This is still a work in progress at approximately 25k words.

Apologies, but I can't remember if I've already commented or not. I didn't need to read very far to know that I enjoyed it, well written. best of luck. Bother, The Lost Reindeer. view book

Sorry - but the pitch isn't really a pitch. As for the story, I appreciate English may not be your first language, but I wasn't able to get into 'the story' - as I didn't feel as though a story were being told. The grammar needs to be improved also. (unless I'm missing something that the others ... view book

Hi Barbara, Please don't take my comments too much to heart - but when I read a book, I need to feel as though I'm falling into a story and time floats by without noticing. I know my own writing isn't brilliant, so again, I apologise if I appear critical - I'm just being honest. I read the beginni... view book

Hi Lynn, I hadn't actually had the chance to back your book until now - but do so with pleasure. Very good and enjoyable. It was nice to read something a little different and although I've only had chance to read the first couple of chapters - I do like how you're portraying the character Naom... view book
