about me

Experience the clear voice and vision of an ardent observer of human nature as R.K. Alan develops his story from the simple to the complex. Delight in his story world, crafted with an architect's eye for detail.

Writing Science Fiction, weaving adventure stories or untangling dark mysteries plays to his strengths. He relishes complex plot structures and difficult storylines. His keen sense of design provides him the ability to create magnificent story worlds, moving resilient characters through them effortlessly, decisively.

"Return to Earth" promises to be an incredible adventure of discovery set in the world of tomorrow, our world, a pristine Earth, devoid of all its ruin and failed humanity of today. Filled with incredible ideas and concepts that will make you wish you were there.

R. K. Alan, an architect by education, real estate developer by profession and closet writer for much of his life, is accustomed to complex, billion dollar development projects. Problem solving at this level is like a grandmaster's game of chess, where every decision, every move means the difference between success or failure. He brings all of these skills and more to this, his debut novel.

Return to Earth: An Adventure ....

R. K. Alan

5237 C.E. - Follow the hardships of man's return to colonize Earth 3,000 years after their Great Ancestors abandoned the dying, polluted planet.

Our Great Ancestors, forced to abandon their dying planet, scavenged the remnants of their space vehicles and constructed an enormous vessel they christened Noah. Armed with the collective wisdom of humanity; fifty thousand intrepid voyagers ventured into the blackness of space in search of a life-sustaining planet. Five hundred years later, they found their nirvana, and named it ‘New Earth’. They had learned from the compounding errors of the previous tens of thousands of years. They forbid the formation of countries and nationalism. They forged a single integrated society and worked in peace over the next twenty-five hundred years to become masters of their new dominion. Science grew exponentially, culture flourished, medicine and education reached new heights while our new found gentler ways forged alliances and friends in nearby star systems. Even though we reached new heights of societal progress, we longed to return to our mother planet. Our probes took several years to cross the black divide between New Earth and their intended target – Earth. After more than fifteen years, we received the first faint messages – Earth had healed itself. Work began in earnest to prepare for mankind's RETURN TO EARTH.

I loved the voice and tone of this book. Blake is an endearing character, smart mouth and all. I am sure a lot of kids will be able to identify with him. Your narrative description works very well to paint your storyworld and makes it come alive for me. The dialogue is crisp and flows easily. It... view book

YA has never been my first choice - or second or third for that matter. But You stopped by, suggested your book, so I wandered in for a read. Glad I did. Loved the refreshing voice, bouncy storytelling and the overall tone and direction this is taking. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, I coul... view book

Hi, Laura, and thank you for bringing your story to my attention. You have a great voice in your storytelling. I love the character, Michelina, and feel her pain and resigned anger. Nicely presented with strong dialogue that works well with your crisp narrative. I found a few things for you to co... view book

Hello, Nutcracker. I extend to you my sincere regards for taking on a book in a second language to your own native tongue. The idioms and grammar of the English language is daunting enough for the native speaker, but for a non-English speaker, the barriers must seem overwhelming. You have a stron... view book

I enjoyed the story line and look forward to more when I get the time. The premise is interesting and could form the basis of an exciting adventure tale. I did not read your first psotings but understand where you may be coming from. When I wrote 'Return To Earth' I did not find my voice or tone ... view book
