about me

I am a writer and a consultant. I live in the DC Metro area and am an avid soccer fan. I have been a student, observer and researcher of religion and society for much of my life. I have traveled to about 30% of the world, experiencing a variety of people, communities and cultures. I love to engage people in relationships that make a difference in both their life and mine. I enjoy art, music and hearing good stories from others.

The Community of the Faithful

Joshua A. Weir

This book faces the conflicts within society regarding the isolation of self; focusing on the interaction of God and man in the essence of community.

The greatest temptation facing the world today is illusion. We have found ourselves isolated in a world of self-realization in lieu of a fabricated reality. From online communities and rapid weight-loss or wealth systems to curb side appeal and leased luxury cars: We are consistently putting forth an image which announces a vicious circle of entitlement while constantly seeking approval.

Do you feel the pressures of being all things to all people, continuously with in reach of communication through technology, the invasion of societal publicity within our private lives or a lack of defined substance for focus on appearance? Have you been trapped in a routine of confusion about your character defined within activities and associations? The challenges of acceptance, dependence, love, fear, belonging and freedom bring us to question our purpose and who we are.

The Community of the Faithful dives in to the fabric of who we are, how we see ourselves and how that translates to the communities that we belong to. This revealing journey down the corridors of legitimate significance opens the doors of the substantial aspects of our existence which lead us to peace and contentment.

Great Job! What I've read so far captures the unimaginable fear and anxiety in the reality of raising a disabled child. Hope you get it published! - Josh view book

Great Job Nick. I'm not a fiction reader, but with lots of middle eastern experience, I figured I'd see what you laid down. I had gone from chapters 1 through 7 before I realized the time. Definitely draws one in to the story... I hope you get it published. I'll buy a copy and finish my read... On ... view book
