about me

QUICK NOTE, 06/03 : I have removed the last half of the book. I hate to do it, but luckily, the book is going into publication, so I must leave something to entice the readers to purchase it! Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and encouragement, and good luck to you all! :)

I am a first time novelist that has actually been writing since the age of nine. I have created a Young Adult Fantasy book series called The Guardians. The first book in the series is The Sacred Oath. I am currently working on book two, Season of Destruction. My characters are twists on current representations of commonly used creatures, and I am also employing creatures from Winnebago mythology, never before used in mainstream fiction.
I love to read about, as well as create new, exciting characters. The local teen population has started circulating my manuscript (courtesy of my daughter), and student folders are now emblazened with my characters' names. :)

I truly enjoy giving and receiving feedback with my fellow authors. That being said, I do get asked to "swap reads" from time to time, and I take my part in it very seriously. However, MY end is the only end that gets completed in some cases. I would hate to think anyone would ask to swap critiques/backings just to get their own needs met and forget about the person who took time from their own work to provide it. So PLEASE, if you write and ask to swap reads, I will reciprocate, but be prepared to go first. Sorry, but you know the phrase, once bitten, twice shy...

To those of you have backed The Sacred Oath and given your praise, suggestions, etc., my deepest thanks and my best wishes for your success as well.
My love and my best to all of you...
Write On! :)

The Sacred Oath

D.C. Grace

Angels, werewolves, Bigfoot, giant serpents and witches in the Wisconsin Dells...? Sometimes, the truth really is stranger than fiction.

Angelina has spent her whole life thinking she was a witch, like her mother. But when her family leaves the dusty reservation roads of New Mexico for the forested hills of Wisconsin, all that changes. Dasan Tallchief, Alpha of The Guardians of the Sacred Oath, walks into Angelina's life. Suddenly her head is full of native drumbeats and mysterious voices that pull her toward him.

Angelina is drawn to help Dasan and The Guardians in their sole purpose - to save the Thunderbirds who watch over the Hocak tribe before Herecgunina, the serpent, destroys them. But if Dasan's attraction to Angelina causes him to imprint on her, the fate of the Thunderbirds and The Guardians could be in jeopardy. And the closer they become, the more they discover that her talents with witchcraft are just the tip of the iceberg.

Soon everything Angelina has ever known about her life seems to be a lie. All of the answers surround The Book of Raziel, and as the truth is revealed, Dasan becomes the only link that can keep Angelina from being trapped in her own mind, forever.

Really great ideas and interesting concept! I started an "alternative history" fiction piece a few years ago, so I know how hard it can be, especially when it comes to detail. Really well crafted, nice pace, I love it! Two thumbs way up! Write on! :) D.C. Grace The Sacred Oath view book

This is a very sweet, touching story. Charming, and very easy to follow. Could easily translate to a movie (can anyone say Disney...? hahaha!) and children of all ages are sure to love it! Write on! D.C. Grace The Sacred Oath view book

I love the characters of Luke and Alice. A particularly soft spot for Luke, whom I knew by so many other names throughout my youth. And now, as I watch my daughters grow, he's still around, in their groups. I'm always a sucker for the ones standing on "the outside." Nicely worded, great pace. You d... view book

As soon as I read the line about his best John Cleese imitation, I was in! One of my favorite comedic talents, you have to love a character that invokes John Cleese, hahaha! This is a very witty piece - and that is a hard thing to bring, especially when you're putting the characters in their work e... view book
