about me

Ray, 43, graduated from University College London having completed an MSc degree in Archaeology. He loves writing and coming up with new ideas that make people think, challenge old assumptions, and make a difference in whatever way. Ray is an avid infovore and loves knowledge just for the sake of it; so much to learn, so little time!

Ray's interests include: Science Fiction writing (unpublished), TV programme writing (uncommissioned), Archaeology, Photography, and Sports (athletics, football, American football).

He is also a committed member of The Mars Society and has attended EuroMars conferences. Ray cunningly lives without a fridge, a microwave, satellite TV, iPods/iPhones, and can't drive. He's a self-confessed 21st century caveman....and loves it!

Ray has finished his first sci-fi novel and after edits is looking to self-publish early next year with CreateSpace.

Raymond Burke

An epic story of superheroes, space wars, and time travel as the Celestian Knights' children battle for survival....

THE CELESTIAN KNIGHTS ARE DOOMED!

And they know it. But the consequences of their actions to forestall the end have deep and tragic ramifications for their children: The Starguards and The Astrals.

Follow them all on an epic story of heroism spanning the beginning and end of the universe and time. The noble race of heroes find themselves fighting a terrifying resurgent enemy on new worlds, in the war-torn 23rd century, and in the far future.

After many trials, galactic wanderings, and lost loves, their destiny will ultimately be tested on an insignificant blue planet, called Earth.

The Starguards – Of humans, heroes, and demi-gods is the epic beginning of a trilogy, chronicling the heroic family line from the beginnings of time.

My book is now complete and undergoing edits. It is on an epic scale c.224, 000 words. For the last chapter, please feel free to contact me at ray_burke50@hotmail.com. All comments and critiques are welcome.

Hi RJ, I've only read the first chapter so far, but will be reading on. Loved the pace and almost wordless intro to the action. I was almost put off by the cliche opening 'It was a cool clear ...' but glad I read on. Cool technology and straight into the action. Good luck and I'll dip into it in ... view book

Hi Michael, I've only read the first chapter, but will definately read the rest. I feel you could push the story another hundred years into the future. I loved the replicator technology. I had read non-fiction science books by James Martin and Douglas Mulhall about such technology and how it woul... view book

Hi Stephen, This is lovely stuff; well-written and caught me straight away. It's a heady mix of science and religion with real potential to gel into a successful novel. Well done. Backed-and if I start having nightmares, I know who to blame! Cheers, good luck, Ray The Starguards view book

Hi Bojan, Finally got around to reading a few chapters of The Twelfth House. Love the quick-fire chapters, gets you straight into the book. Hooked from the beginning with that karate match and OBE segment. Can't wait to read on. Good luck, and cheers from a former archaeological student at UCL. ... view book

Hi Richard, I'm about half way through your excellent book. I'd watch this as a thriller; so intriguing and involving. Absolutely backed. Good luck. Ray The Starguards view book
