I am hosting a forum posting of Canadian Authors...If you have a "Canada" connection...let me know and i will add you to the list. In Canada we accept Jamacians as our track and field team and resent Quebecers until the Olyimpics or Stanley Cup Finals.

Post 9/11. Lakshmi, a beautiful Muslim girl flees to NY, rejects her religion and works as an exotic dancer for survival.

Once uprooted a sapling may grow but will the new soil taint the fruit, poisoning those planting it?

Choosing between doctrine and survival, trapped in a culture thousands of miles from her homeland, Lakshmi attempts to comprehend the cataclysmic events shaping her life.

Her father, prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect loved ones from ravishes of a civil war, unwittingly places his daughter in another form of conflict.

Isolated and subject to increasingly desperate conditions, a daughter must choose between maintaining the ideals and ideology of her past or embracing a risky but seductive Western culture that will offer the freedom necessary in order to survive.

The price is steep. Lakshmi risks the loss of her family, community and culture in order to pursue an uncertain but alluring future. Afraid for her life, she must make the choice while protecting her father and family from the damning truth.

Share the shocking, often bitter, and sweet taste of the unusual fruit borne from a life uprooted.

Uthonomy by Harpo Cullens...Ba....

To save his job Phillip Sims pitches a new website to his bosses at Harpo Cullens. Will he save the publishing industry with Uthonomy?

Confused sexually Phillip Sims frames his Oxford-English-degree above his desk at the mega publisher Harpo Cullens which eminently qualifies him to edit books or deep-fry potatoes and batter fish.

His boss Holts disappears following a review of the new website. Phillip is thrust into the spotlight by stealing an idea overheard in the elevator.

"Post anyone's book, idiot authors edit each-other’s work saving us expense. They decide who is good, the best with the marketing savvy -- float to the top."

Cynical enough for the board -- Crazy enough for the upper management not to know what to do with it.

Technology luddites, they still reminisces the good old days of the Gutenberg-Press, horse-drawn-carriages and masted-sailing-ships..

“Set the type by hand in my day..rather."
“I forged some letters for the block myself."
“I still keep the quill that my first editor used when making notes on hand written manuscripts penned by gas light."

Suspicious of e-books, websites, twitter -- heaven forbid...whatever a Kindle is. Wanting to push paper of dead authors and suffocate anything different that may threaten to un-hinge their slipping-grip of mediocrity.

The old web dashed -- is Phillip’s career next on the block...or wil he save them?

I Remember Every Word (MEN PL....

David J. Gibson

A bloody war wrenches a young Sri Lankan woman from her home, forcing her to live her life on the alien streets of post-9/11 NYC

Muslims are ostracized in this new world. Lakshmi risks shattering her personal life by abandoning her Islamic ideals to accept employment as an adult entertainer...A bitter resolution and her only path to regain everything lost to war.

A desperate act to survive, yet a moral sin in her culture, she must resort to desecrating herself for the pleasures of men. To conceal her shameful secret from family, friends and future in-laws she constructs a double-life and alter ego.

Her past forsaken, her present a lie and future uncertain, her greatest challenge remains to conceal her flourishing career, personal growth and personal shame from Kevin, the man she loves.

Her beauty ensures professional success, but pitches heart against mind while jeopardizing all precious relationships, including those of several powerful personalities: employers, clients and confidents who compete to influence her for their own machinations and personal gain.

Flight is not an option this time but can she determine where happiness lies and with whom before her life is torn apart?

When meaningful...you remember every word...

Editing this book was a shear delight. One can reveal in the three coming of age friends who apply their untested technical working skills to achieving the impossible but harmless prank of making a huge lion statue vanish from plain sight. Great pitch. You lovingly enter the wonder and awe of a child's mind as she graffles with the realities of an adult world. The touch, sensitivity and sentiment are captivating. My only criticisim is that the pace is relentless. Once the wife invades his contentment with her vitriol there is no drop in tempo. The provocation, arguement, thwarted attempts at reconsiliation, the deed and then straight to reprocussions is all related in the high velosity disjointed monologue. ... view book
