about me

Hello.

I am a working professional with a senior-level position. I am also a family man with a loving wife and three wonderful children. My studies have included French, biology, environmental sciences and business administration. Though I have a full life, and my family is the center of my universe, in writing I find contentment and purpose.

Karma's Quarry is my first completed novel, representing both a labor of love and a serious effort to craft a quality story. It is the first in a trilogy, and although the remaining two books have not been written, they have been fully outlined and detailed. Although it is written as a science fiction novel, it is very much down to earth; I am using this genre to both tell what I hope is a compelling story and to facilitate the exploration of some questions about human nature and the advancement of science. It is plot/character driven, with an abundance of subtle inferences. My desire is that the reader will be left pondering some serious questions.

I am taking a little break right now dealing with work and other issues but hope to return to Authonomy soon.

Cheers, and all the best.

Christophe

What if everything you knew about history was a lie; a complex fiction designed to protect humanity from its most ancient and dangerous enemy…itself.

The Odyssey Fleet was the pride and joy of the United Systems. Launched over 200 years ago, she represented mankind’s first foray into deep space exploration. Since that time the Fleet has been the home to nine generations. But that was before Echo-34 B.

Echo, a virgin planet eerily similar to Earth, held a troubling secret. On its surface were the remains of an ancient outpost; an outpost built by humans almost a thousand years before the vessels of the Odyssey Fleet became the first to voyage beyond the known systems.

And then they arrived; a mysterious race of aliens possessed of astonishing technology. Bent on the slaughter of humans, the Dorgans seemed to harbor an unnatural hatred towards mankind.

Two people, John Brun and Charles Wright, obviously know more than they are willing to say. John, a warrior-turned-farmer, is convinced that people are ultimately bad and inherently flawed. Charles, a young, brilliant academic, although recognizing people are inherently flawed, believes they are ultimately good. Through their battle of wills, the future of mankind will be decided. For the secrets they alone share hold the keys to humanity’s salvation…or, depending upon who is right, the seeds of its ultimate destruction.

In the right hands, literature can transcend storytelling and become art. So it is with the Freel of Streel. Something uniquely between “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” the stories’ parts slowly coalesce and begin to take shape, much like an abstract painting. And li... view book

Rob: The story flows well, which, I think, is paramount. I like how you open with the dream sequence, though I note some dissenting views. I think it is a nice hook; you can almost feel the creatures closing in on Jack. And what are they? Who is coming for him? Will read more as time permits, bu... view book

As a scientist by education and aspiring science fiction writer by passion, I was intrigued by your bio. A Short History for a Long Future is definitely a unique work. I appreciate your forward when you say you wrote this to help understand the universe. That, in and of itself, is an interesting ide... view book

Wow, I was really trying hard to be offended with the introduction about God "and stuff," but it was just way too funny. The harder I tried to be offended, the harder I laughed. Fortunately, I don't chew tobacco, and am not hunchbacked, so I guess there's hope. Sandwiched between the layers of hum... view book

I love this. The writing is so clever and witty you immediately like the narrator, even as he (or one of his men) is blowing someone to pieces. The descriptions are sometimes over the top, but it is done with such clarity and (as another commenter suggested) confidence that all fits together perfect... view book
