Death in a Seaside Town

D.J. Cooper

Danger is right behind Simon Cass as he searches for the lover of an old school friend, and constantly battles his own demons.

Private Investigator Simon Cass believes that he is being sent on a wild goose chase in the search for an old lady by his former school associate John Whymark. Whymark is recovering from an accident. In the course of his investigations Cass encounters a spiteful Thomas Hardy fan, a transvestite leader of a successful commune, two seemingly incompetent special branch men and a host of former class mates he had hoped were never going to feature in his life again.
The story is set in Portsmouth, it begins just before Christmas 1998, and concludes shortly after midnight on millennium eve.
