about me

Hello

I swing by here occasionally but I only really visit the Forum. If you want to buy my book, the first part in the K'Barthan Trilogy, feel free. It's available for Kindle and paperback at Amazon (.com and .co.uk) and in more e-formats at Smashwords.

I've also some e-shorts out.

What you have shown here, is All The Wrong Stuff (K'Barthan Trilogy 2). It's incomplete but I'm hoping to finish it this year (11) fingers crossed.

Finally... thanks, a big thanks to Mr Bradley Wind for doing a fine job - with a very crap brief - on a cover for me! You can't see his work here now because it's on the cover of my book which is out on Smashwords - see the link below and in paperbackon 30 September at Amazon, just put M T McGuire and Few Are Chosen into Amazon search.

favourite books

Anything by Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Jasper Fford, Grant/Naylor (yeh I know that's probably spelt wrong and it's TV) and yeh, I like JK Rowling. Tom Holt is good. I also like Tolkein, CS Lewis, Neville Shute (it doesn't all have to be fantasy) Nick Hornby, PG Woodhouse, Oscar Wilde, Pete McCarthy, Bill Bryson... you can see a style of writing coming out now yes?

The Wrong Stuff

M T McGuire

The outlaw is still in love and he's saved the girl, now all that needs saving is the world. The future of civilisation looks dicey.

Close up, The Pan of Hamgee has to admit, this knight in shining armour thing is trickier than it looks. Despite being narcotically inconvenienced by the Grongolian Secret Police, he has managed to escape from their custody, switch to another version of reality and spirit the Chosen One from under the Grongles' noses as they tried to kidnap her. Not a bad day's work, he thinks.

But the Chosen One thinks otherwise. The trouble is she's never met him before and because of the drugs, all he can tell her is that he's a little teapot. It's not a great help that he's broken the glass front of the Festival Hall or that Lord Vernon has pursued the two of them through London and broken some major landmarks, either.

They are alive, of course, but the Chosen One's life is ruined, the Grongolian hordes and their despot leader, Lord Vernon are leaking into the wrong version of the universe and The Pan is going to have to clear up the mess fast or bad things will happen...

This is the second volume of the K'Barthan Trilogy.

I read chapter 27 as suggested. It's polished, tense and you have your voice sussed. Yeh, you can write and I think I can back this. Good luck. Cheers MTM view book

This is interesting. I wanted to read on, I was caught up in the action but, it's a little bit wordy - nothing a good edit wouldn't sort out. Also, and this may be my lack of knowledge of the genre, but I would think that if you cut someone's throat it will make a noise, especially if the blood goes... view book

Blimey that's excellent writing. I was drawn straight in and I like Hayley, a lot. She's brilliant. Just the right amount of tension, nice action to drag us, kicking and screaming, into the story. Yeh, pretty good. One sentence struck me as being a bit lumpy, mainly because the rest is so fluid, tha... view book

Wow... you had me hooked there, this is good stuff, if I picked it up in a shop and began to read I'd almost certainly have to buy this. Backed. Cheers Mary Mc view book
