about me

I'm an English teacher from rural West Virginia. I have always written and have completed four novel-length manuscripts, but rarely submit them for publication. I would like to change that. Perhaps because of the ghost stories I grew up hearing and reading, at least a hint of the supernatural finds its way into everything I write.

favourite books

Ghost Stories of M.R. James
Moby Dick
The Scarlet Letter
The Chronicles of Narnia
Something Wicked This Way Comes
The poetry of Emily Dickinson and T.S. Eliot

I'm going to go ahead and put this on my shelf. Looks like something I'll enjoy reading. I'll comment further after I read a bit. view book

Putting this on my watchlist now. No surer way to get me to read something than to base it on mythology, which I've taught. view book

Okay, I remember this now! Sorry, it's been a chaotic week. I'm a bit surprised it didn't make it to my watchlist, at least. I'll move it over now, and thanks for everything. I remember being struck by the pirate-investigator character and wonder what happened at the moment I was about to act on... view book
