about me

I am a father of five. Enough said? Maybe not! I am also a registered clinical counselor and a social worker. My work experiences are as diverse as my personal ones and I write from the depths of these. In writing it is the story that is important to me. I love a wonderfully crafted story. Not so big on hype. Oh... and I love cats. I love everything about them, especially their radical independence.

favourite books

When I was growing up I loved Treasure Island. Later on I fell in love with Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I like novels which come from the observer perspective. Some say that distances them from the characters, I disagree. Nearly all the old classics were written that way and that is how I write. I am not a lover of narration through the eyes of a character in the novel but I have seen a few on this site I enjoyed.

David, I have to say that I was not all that inspired by your book. When I got past all the literary issues I found issue with much of the content. Some have commented that you seem to know your bible. My feeling is the opposite. You seem to have a very strong folk theology but not much acade... view book

This is well written and very funny. I sure hope though that it is not meant to resemble any sense of truth. Any grown man that would "nail" an 18 year old is a loser in my books. I also do not believe that a man with any maturity or half a brain fits the description of what men like. Lets just... view book

I am Canadian and did get a sense of growing up in Canada from the first chapter. I like that it is a true story and that it feels like a window into not just some character's life, but a real life. What I would point out is that there are a lot of issues with grammar and some with sentence struct... view book
