about me

I was an English/Language-Arts teacher for 18 years until I discovered it was no longer fun. It wasn't the students so much as it was the politics. So I changed careers and suddenly found the time to write. I discovered an old, handwritten beginning to a story, word processed it, and became overwhelmed with it.

If I am not writing, I am reading...or playing tennis.

I love all things English, for I am married to a supportive Brit chick who, when she is not making me laugh, pushes me to keep writing.

"Johnny Appleseed" is one of my wife's favorite nicknames for me. I am also known as the Tennisrocker.

The Dark Betwixt

John P. Wallman

Legend, darkness, demon, vampire--she is the One sent from the Underworld. Soon, the Queen of the Night will return...

From the ancient ziggurats of Mesopotamia to the bloody sands of the Crusades, from the proper streets of Victorian London to the hedonistic crowds of present day rock concerts, enter a world of darkness and light, evil and goodness...and a girl and a boy. She is the One who will bring about the return of the Queen of the Night. He is the Chosen to stand against the growing darkness and stop her.

Enter a world where goddesses are not so divine, epic heroes not so heroic, kings not so noble, and history not so defined.

Enter a world behind the world, hidden from humanity but fighting a war as old as Heaven, a world of dark political confederacies and secret Vatican societies, of demonic vampires and smiling angels battling over control of the Creation and the blessed souls who walk ignorantly through it.

It is a world of the Dark betwixt humans and vampires, angels and demons--ultimately, betwixt choice and destiny.

Horror Critique Group SPAWN OF LILITH by Aiden M.D. Hale …is an interesting take on the St. George and the Dragon myth—but it goes much farther. I found the Lilith/Tiamat angle enchanting. I too am a Mesopotamian/Babylonian enthusiast, and any story that uses that myth system has an automatic... view book

Horror Critique Group Review DISCOREDIA by JC Michael …starts off with a young man at a rave, tripping on some new designer drug he’d been given. At first he is euphoric with delusions of being a king and the ravers his court. Then the horror begins. I have never been to a rave, but JC M... view book

Thank you very much for the comments. There is much that will change when I get to re-tooling THE DARK BETWIXT. In fact, much of what is at the beginning here on Authonomy will end up being in the middle. Thanks for the note on the awkward paragraph, too. And the headnotes: I agree--I'll proba... view book
