about me

I am a middle school reading teacher with love of fantasy, music, and chocolate, in no particular order. I have about eight works in progress that play musical chairs with my muse on a constant basis, but there are two that are nearing completion that I hope to (eventually) publish.

While I will read just about anything, my writing is almost exclusively settled in the fantasy genre. I do occasionally write on other topics, but the magic always seems to call me back.

Back, and with a much edited version of Adrian Chronicles.

I do my best to return all comments and reads, but I'm a bit backed up right now. If I'm slow to get back to you, please don't worry. I'll try to respond as soon as I can. :)

The Adrian Chronicles

Jennifer Justice

Adrian Youth Facilities is a dumping ground for those children society didn't want. Now, three teens must prove they're more than the world believes.

Adrian Youth Facilities is a home for the kids that society has rejected—orphans, juvies, bastards, and anyone else the general public would like to forget. Adrian promises reformation and gives the world an excuse to look the other way.
For Lynx, a human thief with a penchant for mischief, Adrian is an opportunity to grab a few free meals. For Virala, the half-breed stepchild of a councilor, it’s a chance to reinvent herself. And for Red, a young werewolf with a troubled past, it’s a place where he might actually belong.
Before they can settle into their new territory, however, the entire campus is threatened when Fang, its most dangerous resident, begins a rampage that could tear it apart. It’s then that the Adrian outcasts must prove that they have a worth the rest of the world never imagined.

Tom, This is an interesting premise and you have a good start. You begin with a bang, dropping the reader right into an action packed prologue, which is a nice touch. After that, the tone definitely feels young adult and the setting adds a lot of interest. I have two critiques - one, if you're... view book

MacKenzie, This is beautiful. Lovely, detailed description that draws the reader into an amazingly vivid setting. Great job! I love the set up of the first scene. Your prologue engages interest and, despite the gap in time, feels like a continuous part of the story instead of a separate section. ... view book

Cheri, What a fascinating idea! It's always impressive to see how people manage to work Greek mythology into new interpretations and I really like how you integrated Artemis and the nymph Arethusa into this piece. There's a great sense of foreboding throughout the opening chapters that keeps the ... view book

Debra, Wonderful job! I love the way you keep Lin's gender hidden through most of the first chapter. There were clues, but they were well done so that you mostly notice them after the fact. Perfect! You've done a lovely job of weaving the Arthur legend into a new story. I was hooked from the s... view book

Sarah, I don't have much time, so this won't be as detailed a comment as I would like, but I hope some of it will be helpful: First, your strengths: You have a very interesting plot line. The whole relationship between the Hunters and the Lures is intriguing, though the MCs and the Gunslingers... view book
