about me
I am a writer of a novel, "The Idol", and am about to finish my second, the first in a proposed sci-fi series about a camper-van driving female investigator of the inexplicable!
Furthermore I have also written a non-fiction book reviewing the post-war history of the Le Mans 24 Hours ( the sportscar blue-riband event which takes place every June ) and will be looking to publish these soon.
As well as penning books I also like to write poems - particularly limericks - in my quiet moments, and aim for the light-hearted.
I have also written articles, including reviews of the work of David Bowie
favourite books
Anything by Tom Sharpe - particularly the Wilt series, Porterhouse Blue and The Throwback. I personally rated his earlier works a little higher than his very recent ones.
The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings, by JRR Tolkein.
Selected Harry Potter works by JK Rowling, notably the Half Blood Prince ( which I also thought was one of the best films ).
Anything about the Kray Twins. Particularly Notorious, by John Pearson.
An Epic Swindle, by Brian Reade. The story of the disastrous takeover of Liverpool FC by Tom Hicks and George Gillett which ended in court and near-administration.
I also like poetry collections, with the likes of Ted Hughes, war poems and also the witty sayings from the likes of Churchill, Wilde, Kenneth Williams and Chamfort.
