Without Witnesses

Doctor Richard Massey goes to Cornwall on holiday when one of the guests where he is staying dies.

Death Certificate

A friend of Massey gets married, a short time later his wife is in a train accident and suffers head injuries, these change her personality. Massey goes to help them; but the woman dies and is prepared for burial.

Ten Years Asleep

A patient of Massey's, Ed Mainwaring, has just recovered from a severe bout of typhoid fever. Mainwaring and his wife go on a recovery holiday, his wife hears that her daughter is ill and goes to see her. On her return she finds her husband has checked out of their room and disappeared and asks Massey to help find him.

Very Far West

Dr. Massey goes to the theatre one night he is lured by a very pretty girl back to her house to attend to her sick father. He finds he has been tricked and is kidnapped.

Richard Massey whilst on holiday in Warwickshire, is asked to examine Squire Norrey, the local squire who had been thrown from his horse. Massey find that Norrey has spinal injuries and is paralysed. The squired is worried about his heir, who he has never met due to the fact that he and his daughter are at odds. Massey learns that the heir is mentally disabled, but thinks he can help.

Hi Jane Just a couple of little points. Use the active voice in writing. Avoid weak verbs: "to be" and its variants: was, are, is. This puts the reader on-scene, makes what’s happening, happen now. Hi Aitor Just a couple of nits. You don't hang a sword on a belt you hang it from a belt. Charlmagne was more know as an emperor than a king. And a large ruby mounted in the pommel. Other than these this is a very well written story. Regards Pride. view book
