about me
Look at my profile page. Notice anything strange? You're right; there's no manuscript! That's because I don't write. I love to read, though, and in a multitude of genres. I'll read nearly anything, but if you happen to write well-crafted, humorous YA, I will follow you to the ends of the earth. Yes, that WAS a cliche! Because I don't write, so I don't have to worry about stuff like that.
A note to requesters: Gee, I never thought a girl wearing a wreath made out of sandwich bags on her head would get so many read requests, but there are a lot of writers on Authonomy who are passionate about marketing their books! Here's how I'm going to handle requests:
1) If you ask me to read your book, I'll put it on my watchlist until I have a chance to sit down and read it thoroughly. I don't like to skim my selections.
2) If the book doesn't interest me after the first chapter, it's off my watchlist. I'm fickle that way. Don't take it personally, because when it comes down to it, what do I know? I'm not a writer, just a voracious reader.
3) If your writing grabs me by the throat and insists I keep going, I'll put it on my bookshelf. I don't care about spelling and grammar up to a point, but I care about a good story very, very much.
4) If I absolutely adore your book, I'll leave a comment. Don't expect an intellectual critique or a breakdown of pacing, plot, characterization and story arc. Instead, I'll gush about what I love and probably babble about things that are of no import to you.
5) I prefer having up-and-coming books on my bookshelf. If you're already in the top 25, you probably don't need my backing anyway.
Keep the requests coming!!
