HARRY AND BO AND OTHER STORIES....

Danny Johnson

From a talking rat to an examination of the futility of war to a satirical look at the fallacy of the American Dream

The Harry and Bo story is a heartwarming one of a lowly Wall Street accountant who finds a talking rat in his apartment, and together they make a plan to play the stock market and make their dreams come true. Other stories include an examination of the fallacies of winners and losers in the Vietnam War, a hometown hero story of three kids who rescue their friend from a kidnapper, a look at the impact of the loss of a child in war that is set in the sixties but is applicable to today as well, the search for the answer of what happens when we die, an allegory of Huck Finn as a boy takes a ride on a bus to Marine Corps boot camp in 1965, and a satirical look at the American Dream through the eyes of a baby boomer.

Jayne--an absolutely wonderful opening chapter, I don't think the pitch lines do it justice...I love the writing and the mystery you have set up...from this point I would trust you to entertain me and would definitely continue to read...well done and congratulations. view book

a very colorful story, one that I would dearly love to listen to in a reading...the dialect is a little hard for me to follow, being the uneducated Southern American boy I am...I could easily see this as a play... view book
