In that very year, he continues his studies at Liceu Nacional De Viana Do Castelo, where he finishes his General Course. In 1976, he moves to the city of Coimbra where he finishes the Complimentary Course at Liceu Infanta D. Maria, and enters the Law Faculty in Coimbra University. He studies for two years in this faculty, but does not graduate.

In 2009, he decides to give up his professional life, returning to Portugal to fulfil a long time dream, dedicating himselft to literature full time. "EGO ANATOMY"...NOVEL PARTS

«..«......He lived from his enchanted fantasies, he, Bye, had this single opportunity of an unembarrassed path, because he had had a righteous upbringing and an admirable master. He felt like a receptacle of music repeating melodious notes, the sounds of life that dazzled him. There were no unexpected events in his life, just like a trip with no new discoveries, a route that suddenly would open without horizons, to an endless track without destination. He felt a state of high energy; he was passing unscathed through the ring of social paradigms that affected his parents, ignored in his live and creative adolescent mind. He lived as snowflakes that reach the soil and melt down in water in a fraction of uncountable time...»

Miguel Martins de Menezes
(In "Ego Anatomy" translation by Maud V. Rugeroni)

«Bye - How come? Does the ego make people ugly?
Babu - My boy, beauty is a futile shell, the real beauty is within us, that’s what really make people beautiful or ugly. It’s like a very beautiful man or woman, but with no qualities whatsoever, their apparent beauty is shadowed by their empty and futile character, because they think they are beautiful and live their entire life on their external appearance, never looking into themselves. Their own beauty blinds them and they can’t see their essence. They are blind and confident of their exterior aspect, taking for granted the fundamental aspects of life.
Bye - It gets more and more difficult, Sadhu. You tell me difficult things.
Babu - No, my boy, it’s not that difficult. If you look at this beautiful coconut, can you tell if its water is fresh and sweet before opening it?..
Bye - No, sometimes, coconuts deceive us!
Babu - (Laughing at Bye's innocence) - Yes, coconuts and people!...
Bye - So, are you saying coconuts are like people, Sadhu?
Babu - They are different, but they are both children of Mother Nature, only they are different. Coconuts are vegetables and people are animals.
Bye - So, coconuts also have ego, Sadhu?..»

Note from the author: The facts described in"Internet on the flight to the abyss" are completely based on real events. Nothing is fictional in this book. However, names and locations were altered to preserve the identity of the people and institutions involved.

The author has tried to be faithful to the facts, giving up his own subjectivity for a description as real as possible. In order to do so, he has distanced himself from the building of the story for several days, reflecting on his position as a witness. The text reflects, as much as possible, the reality.

THIS SONG OF MINE..

This song of mine will wind its music around you, my child, like
the fond arms of love.
This song of mine will touch your forehead like a kiss of
blessing.
When you are alone it will sit by your side and whisper in
your ear, when you are in the crowd it will fence you about with aloofness.
My song will be like a pair of wings to your dreams, it will
transport your heart to the verge of the unknown.
«It will be like the faithful star overhead when dark night is
over your road.
My song will sit in the pupils of your eyes, and will carry
your sight into the heart of things.
And when my voice is silent in death, my song will speak in
your living heart.»

Rabindranath Tagore

Advice to future writers: « Thought is not merely expressed in words; it comes into existence through them. A word devoid of thought is a dead thing, and a thought unembodied in words remains a shadow. »

(Vygotsky).

1.1 -Thought and language are two sides of the same coin.

1.2- Languages are cognitive representations of the human universe. They are creative reflections influenced by the culture of the observer. Writing is the art of representing the universe through language. The writer is always an observer that builds his ideas based on his observations. As the ideas take form, they are influenced by the writer’s culture and characteristics of his language.

1.3-If the authors intention it is not objective, translator will feel like a lost navigator

1.4- A good translator has to translate words and concepts following the author primordial idea as near as possible.

1.5- A translation can improve or damage the author’s work

1.6- Author, book and translator, must have a triangular relation, team work its essential.

Miguel Martins de Menezes

«He preferred to be humiliated to throwing back insults, referred to the intellectual laziness that condemns mankind to an immoral indulgent silence.»

An extraordinary narrative on the fight of one man struggling to get closer to his loved one. Fascinating reading, “INTERNET – ON THE FLIGHT TO THE ABYSS”, is a love story based on real facts.
Murilo, a forty-eight year old Portuguese man falls in love with Luana, a forty-three year old Brazilian, living an intense and rough love relationship over the internet for eight months, leading them to getting together twelve thousand kilometers away.

A dramatic and piquant story, full of surprizing experiences, cruel and violent moments. Questioning virtual reality and its dangers, a living and real report set in three different countries; Portugal, Brazil and Argentina.

The novel takes us through a ride in the imagination of the described facts, making the reader mix reality and fiction; war, corruption, love and betrayal, moments of fun, facts based on the author’s personal experience over his journey through more than sixteen countries, from the Eastern to the Western coast of Africa, Southern Africa, going through the whole of Europe and the North Atlantic.

The author questions the “virtual” reality, pointing out its dangers and harmful usage, interrogating, analysing a planet amidst a complete change of values.

This book it's a pure narrative, not a dialogue, if you see works from Hemingway or others like Gabriel Garcia Marquez you do not find dialogues on narratives, probably a couple ones, but out of the context. Thank you for your honest comment, Best regards, Miguel view book
