about me

Two years after starting on this site, and starting my first novel (I showed my V.RAW work :P), my book is now available in both paperback and ebook on both Amazon and on my website ... soon to be and B&N and other online retailers :))

I credit this site for a lot of my success, whether it be this book, my editing positions, my freelance writing ... all of it happened through the relationships (and now, great friendships) I made here on this site.
Seven out of ten people on my acknowledgments page, I actually met right here and are still important people in my life (even Rocky Lastinger, RIP xx)

Anyway, since the contract I chose was a bit more *indie* (I'm a bit of a control freak and so liked it there more than any other house), I am able to post my book pretty much where I please.
I've decided to make it public again (when i get a chance ... hopefully this wknd!) on here so people can sample it ... I'm going to link here from my site.

Anyway, if you feel like checking it out and commenting, that would be amazing. No worries about shelving. I'm just happy to have my work out for people to read and I love to hear feedback ... as long as you don't heartlessly bash it for no reason ;)

Thanks so much!! :D

(p.s. -- my book hit about 75 on here before I decided it was too much work ... I was spending more time here than finishing the book, but SOOO many people who were on here the same time I was have there books out there now, some people have multiple books. so DO NOT GIVE UP!
-- yes, Poppet has a few books published, Jo Ellis is a #1 Kindle seller with over 80,000! downloads -- beyond amazing -- and so many others! This is a great community :))

xx

I love the description and progression of the story. I felt a part of it right away...really felt what Goldie was feeling and going through. You did a fabulous job with capturing the emotions and the storytelling in itself is great. Not only can you write, but you can tell a story. And the mention o... view book

What a way to start off a book. Nicely done. Even women can relate to this as we have to endure such exciting examinations as this even when there's nothing wrong!!! I like the inner retrospection alongside the movie references. Done quite well -- interesting and different, without being cheesy. Th... view book

I've been having a problem lately with reading books and shelving, but not commenting right away. Sorry for the delay... But you have been on my shelf and shall stay for a bit longer. I really enjoyed what I read of this. You create a great atmosphere and I felt a part of the brothers' relationship... view book

I backed this a while ago, but wanted to read a bit more before leaving a comment. Well, my mind hasn't changed. This is great and I love your voice. This is strong writing and I really enjoyed it. I think everyone can relate to it on some level, which is great! Good luck with it!!! -Eden* view book

I cannot help but love this as the writing is so beautiful. Your descriptions are perfect and so clear and gorgeous. Even if the story was horrible (which it most definitely Isn't!), I'd probably read on just for the language. Definitely on my shelf! -Eden / The Abandoned Edge of Avalon view book
