Four people are, involuntarily, thrown into another, parallel reality, unable to communicate and unknowing of a flourishing conspiracy that endangers their lives.
Jason and Chloe Park's controversial books reveal crimes begotten by gods, messengers, and fanatic Christian fathers and mobs. The crimes have always been either justified or hidden for thousands of years.
To escape the disapproval of friends and parents, they relocate to Micropolis. Life in the little town is good until Reverend Paul Garner of St Michaels sues Jason Park for insulting St Michael. He demands apology and monetary compensation.
During the trial, two books disappear from the waiting room in the Court House, and later Paul Garner and his solicitor Martin Cane. Jason Park and Suzan Cohen are next to follow, but some unexpected intervention throws them into a wild terrain. Somebody is controlling a portal leading into another world.
Garner and Cane pitch up in the presence of a white-haired professor. He is equally surprised as they are. Unable to communicate, they become, involuntarily, involved in a great conspiracy started by a god with many names; one of them is St. Michael. For Paul, who needs critical medical treatment, time is running out. Jason believes this diseases-free world is the one we should have had it not been reoriented through religious manipulations.
