about me

Yes that is me in a nutshell, a Libra born cancer survivor from the baby boomer generation living in a now empty nest.

Among the many mundane, integral traits, qualities and interesting factoids from my past and present of which I may be accused, labeled, or tagged, I have chosen these few that I feel have most influenced me and have molded me into the unique individual I am today.

While extensive research regarding the accuracy, the validity, or not, pertaining to matters of Zodiac predictions and interpretations has not led to the solidification of a yea or nay opinion, I am including this tid-bit.

This is because I have always been by nature inquisitive. I want answers that I "Believe" in. The Zodiac, ghosts, God, these and a few other interesting topics are impossible for the true intellectual to dismiss as unfounded. One axiom I share in my books and hold true to myself is, “if something cannot be 100% proven to be untrue or impossible maintain an open mind”.

So yes I am a Libra and I must confess I hunger for knowledge, I look for the good in everyone, I am artistic, and compassionate, I by nature look at all arguments from both sides. I am also fervently passionate in my driving desire to see a more satisfactory balance achieved in our world.

I believe that this age of education and information may offer the human race one of its greatest opportunities to overcome the divisive mindset that permeates and prevents the human race from recognizing the need for true equality and harmony between us. Perhaps this era may be our last chance to reset the scales. Dare I Perchance to dream of achieving real change; One that could bring about a desperately needed accounting and correction of the balancing act that has gone on far too long between the haves and the have nots, justice and opportunity, greed and human conditions, consumption and pollution of natural resources? I have, I do, and I will.

Having experienced the diagnosis, the long and arduous treatments and subsequently surviving cancer has been an ongoing life changing event that undeniably played a role in the development of my persona and has renewed and reinforced my love and appreciation of life in many ways.

Yes, I have included that I am an empty nester. I mention that because I am still trying to adjust to organizing my time. Time is actually mine to do with as I please. This of course includes writing, which I have been doing almost obsessively lately:)

It was so emotional, and so strange when it came down to the last to leave. I honestly did not think our baby getting married was going to hit me so hard, but it really did. 3 out of 4 of our others returned home at least once for brief periods lol, over the years, but my littlest has flown and soared on her own for 3 years now, so I think I am truly an empty nester now:)

Lastly yes, I am a Baby Boomer... enough said for now, be satisfied I am giving away my age here:)

Not included, but as much a part of me as my beating heart, as sure as the sun will rise to greet me each morning, and set in the evening, is my love of nature.

If you notice on my tag line it says Libran cancer survivor from the baby boom... ran out of space at boom, lol. So yes Nature Lover, Country girl, educated hick, politically correct redneck haha,

OK, LOL, JK... These are all narrative, creative non-fiction works. While it would be possible to have any one of them ready with a final pre-publishing polish window of a few weeks, currently they are only published in my mind:)

As I have time and work my way through this site I am sure excerpts will find their way here in bits and pieces, in the interest of receiving welcome peer to peer input. I must warn in advance that because of unique aspects related to the all important "hook " 2 of the 4 will not be receiving much promotion here...

As many of you are no doubt aware, a quality blurb, a hook for the book that sinks deep, rapidly grabbing the reader and luring him in can often be quite elusive, like waiting for the big one to bite. Not to mention proposals can be difficult and time consuming to prepare as well. More like "work", not as invigorating or as fun as writing. I do love a good challenge though, it is just harder to make time to sit and write about yourself, and your books when there are so many other unwritten words waiting to be recorded for posterity. LOL, anyone else keep a notebook handy? Sometimes a single thought or sentence suddenly blossoms into a full on outline for a new book idea you know?

so who do I read when I do read?

Well a lot of reading material that I find interesting some may consider boring; primary source, and historical documents, statistics and reports, etc...

BUT...Believe it or not, I have Loved Stephen King since the 70's and the start of The Dark Tower series.
