Sincere thanks to everyone who has read, backed and commented on The Devil's Box; I am truly moved by the encouragement and insight you have offered. I have taken it down to continue editing.
In the meantime, I offer another project I have recently started. Matter Out of Place is a story about love, loss and anthropology.... and if that sounds intriguing, read on. There are one or two sexy bits, but I'm not telling where!
The first few chapters are all I have, but I'm working on more and will upload them as I finish them. These are relatively unedited, so please disregard typos and silly mistakes. At this stage, I'm particularly looking for comments about the storyline and the characterization. Enjoy!

Too many to name, but the one I always come back to is The Shipping News by Annie Proulx. Also much loved are To Kill a Mocking Bird, Pat Barker's Regeneration Trilogy, the His Dark Materials trilogy, The Crow Road by Iain Banks, pretty much anything by Barbara Kingsolver, but especially The Poisonwood Bible.
