How do I start ..? I just love books....I spend so much time looking for books ...looking at books ,,,browsing through books ...so this site ,to me, is pure heaven,
I came on here to look for a story written by my father.His name is Terry O'Neill and he has written about his childhood in care.His story tells of how he and his brother were fostered ,left with a brutal couple (who beat and neglected both boys) and how he witnessed the manslaughter of his brother.This tragic case hit the headlines in 1945 and was such a big court case,( and following enquiry) it brought about a change in the 'Childrens Act (1945 ) and was said that lessons should be learned so that this may never happen again.
Agatha Christie used the basis of this tragic case to write a story called Three Blind Mice...which was later to become the stage play..'The Mousetrap'.
Now my father has written down his thoughts and experiences...

Harper Collins has now published his story ...re-titled 'Someone to Love Us' and is available in many shops and also online ...
