about me

Thanks everybody for your comments on American Witch. I continue to tinkering with it and appreciate the helpful tips. I totally changed my long pitch, so am curious to know the reaction. I return all reads, so check it out. It's not your usual witch story.

A number of my short stories have been published in webzines, including the late great Whispers of Wickedness, and small press anthologies, with Cern Zoo being the latest anthology. The caliber of writing in Cern Zoo is so high, I feel somewhat embarrassed to be included and wonder if I wasn't accidentally dropped in somehow.

Check out my website RosalindBarden.com to satisfy your further curiosity.

Lost City of Z and Hunger Games are current favorites, and Cern Zoo, of course!

Bad Bishop was recommended to me, and I in turn recommend Bad Bishop to all who want to become completely lost in a book of extraordinary excellence. The in-depth research blends effortlessly into this historical mystery, but never overpowers the story. My regret is that I must read it on a comput... view book

Miss Manners is too fun, from the beginning where she fears dying in holey granny knickers and no-shows at her funeral, to the humiliation of the bunny suit, then the fantasy of the Miss Manners contest. Bravo! Backed. Rosalind Barden American Witch view book

I love how Chimera Factor begins, with a peaceful family vacation that turns into tragedy because of Dyan's unique abilities. Great thriller. Backed. Rosalind Barden American Witch view book

The Magic Door Knob is a delightful read. Fun, though tempered with the mystery of the missing father in the first chapter. Then on to the strange green man! Backed. Rosalind Barden American Witch view book

The Pioneer has one of the best pitches I've read on Authonomy. I like the description of "an unequal friendship," and of Oliver, "but he too has a history, and his mind is unquiet." The book does not disappoint, from the discussion about "psychology of crowds," to the surreal experiment in Pompei... view book
