about me

As a teacher of young children I have always written stories and plays for them and for my own children. Since retirement I have been given the time to write constantly and have now completed eight novels. My novel 'Sanctuary' was longlisted for the Alan Titchmarsh novel competition 2011, and I was advised by the organisers to take advantage of 'authonomy' to bring my work to wider audience. I also have my own website to enable people to look at my other works, read the synopses and first few chapters of two others so far. I hope that you enjoy what you read and help me to achieve the goal we all seek.

Other books I have written

The Box
Dream Doorway
Double Trouble
Table For Eight
Laying the Ghosts
One Man and his Dog Came to Tune a Piano
The Kindness of Strangers

favourite books

All Erica James novels
Left Neglected - Lisa Genova
The Help - Kathryn Stockett
All Jane Austen novels
And too many more to list!

Sanctuary

Tina Cox

Laura believes she has found a sanctuary from her abusive marriage. Is this too much to hope for?

A fortuitous legacy and a change of name give Tessa Pengelly the chance to escape from the horrors of her past life. But her dream becomes a nightmare when she is haunted by two ghosts. One, her very much alive and abusive ex-husband, will attempt to kill her. The other, centuries dead, will save her life.

Hi Lacy, what an intriguing story - full of all the teenage angst which even at my great age I remember so well! I have finished the first three chapters and really enjoyed what I read and became very involved with Honey. I wanted to shake her by the shoulders then hug her hurt away in equal measure... view book

Hi Ann, I really enjoyed the first two chapters of your book. I was a little wary at first, knowing virtually nothing about ballet, but you made it so easy to read whilst at the same time being both informative and atmospheric. I intend to try and read more when I have time, but until then I am put... view book

Hi Jennifer I loved the first chapter of your book 'Reflections.' Roxy is a girl after my own heart and so sympathetically portrayed that even the svelte of the world untroubled by the rigours of diet must surely empathise with her. I ran out of time so couldn't read more now, but have promised myse... view book

Hi Cecily, poor Isabel - I feel as if I would like to hug her, comfort her - after all she has no-one else offering it! I thought the chapters I read well written in a crisp, clear style and would like to read more at a later stage. David seems to be a really cold fish, but I suspect there is much m... view book

Hi Ruby, I have now read the first 6 chapters of the 'Beyond The Honeysuckle Trail' and really enjoyed it. I loved the way you crafted your characters so well - well enough for the reader to instantly identify and empathise with them. To me they seemed like people I could have met, jumping out from ... view book
