about me

Currently a housewife and a mother of two young adults, I love 'people watching'. Before I go further, let me clarify I am not a stalker or a snoop, just someone who enjoys walking through the streets of countries I visit - especially India - getting to know the lives and thoughts of people I come across.
To each of them, strangers and acquaintances, I owe my belief in the human spirit and capability to survive challenges life throws our way.
An amateur and as yet an unpublished author, this is the first time I have put out some of my work.
Constructive criticism or WILD appreciation(preferable) are welcome.

Spinning Wheel

Almas Menon

Spinning Wheel is a collection of short stories that glimpse into the lives and minds of men and women going through life's challenges.

Spinning Wheel weaves through the lives of men and women trying to survive life's challenges. What regrets go through the mind of a working mother as she faces her worst fears? How does an old man find an answer to his loneliness? Can a prostitute have passions other than the voyeuristic? When fame and fortune do not bring happiness, what does? This collection of short stories are thought provoking, reflective, each providing a insight into contrasting thought processes, reactions and needs of the old and young. The writing style is deliberately simple making it easy to read and digest while leaving some unanswered questions to the readers imagination.

Although this is not a genre I read, I went through the first 2 chapters and find your writing style captivating. A few grammatical mistakes, but other wise entertaining. Your sentences are simple and easy to read and yet you manage to pack a lot of information into each one. I wish you the very ... view book
