about me

I'm finally an official senior: 65 years of age! I could say I've finally entered "Old Age" but don't be deceived, I'm "young at heart"!

I've been a reporter, editor, electrical apprentice, teacher, Bible student, web designer and most recently wedding photographer. I've knocked around the block a few times and here I am, at the age of 65! Where did the time go?

Hmm, on second thought, maybe my finest achievement in life is my marriage to my wife, Marjorie. I'm glad I found her.

I concentrate on scenery and wedding photography in my new-found career. For relaxation, I watch old black and white movies and love the old crime shows, like Peter Gunn.

I was born in Austria and my wife and I love traveling. We lived in France for a year and have fond memories of tenting and driving throughout Europe with our rent-a-car.

There's a lot of living in 65 years. I tell my story with flashbacks to my brother-in-law who died at 37 of lung cancer.

My autobiography looks at self-esteem that can be worn thin at the work place. I've had a variety of jobs, none of which seemed to have fit. I've had two nervous breakdowns which have served as a lesson about what's really important in life. Journey with me through topics like careers, health, old age, God, Lady Gaga, talents and finding your niche in the universe. I look at my personal life within the context of world news and hopefully through this perspective, give people a compass for the true direction of their own lives. I can't help but make references to my brother-in-law, Ken Janzen, who died of lung cancer at the age of 37. Now that I'm 65, I feel more than ever how he was cheated. I invite you on this private journey through our lives, in both my books: Book I "Kenny's Story" and Book II "John's Story."

I put your book on my watchlist, Jori. Instructive historically. I take a different slant on my personal liberation as a modern man, having read Germaine Greer in my early years at university. In my context, I see women as having become domineering in the Western World, achieving careers and stat... view book

Your first chapter (and I'm sure the rest of the book) is delightful. Fast-paced dialogue and great trucker's jargon. I've backed you book. (Hope the character has diabetes and not you.) Live long and prosper. -- John Hartig "Time Portal" view book

Hi Su: Yours is quite different than my diary/journal. It's an interesting approach to create a fantasy/horror story inside the head of the diary keeper. I've backed your book. - John Hartig "Time Portal" view book

3rd paragraph: "I can just imaging them running..." probably "I can just imagine them running..." I do that kind of stuff too, especially when I change a sentence and forget to change a previous part of it. _________________________________ As to my reading so far: interesting perspective fr... view book
