about me

It's the same old story. A twenty-two year old kid moves from Canada to Australia to pursue a career as a writer/actor, leaving behind everyone he knows and his bright future in the field of biochemistry.

Update: A year older and back in Canada. Still dating the keyboard, went through a rough patch but I think the two of us have come out stronger for it.

A frequently updated collection of short stories and poems that, if anything, will make my novel look better by comparison.

If I may have a moment of vanity, how awesome is that title? Seriously. In terms of title creation, I think I've just peaked.

The Romantic

Zan Klein

The formation of a romantic in a society that no longer seems to need or appreciate romance.
Oh, and it’s also a comedy.

Written by an author sick of reading about love through the PG-rated narration of a fifteen year old girl, The Romantic is the first of two novels exploring the formative concepts of love through the uncensored narration of a fifteen year old boy.

Alexander Letvinchuk, a nomad currently residing in Thunder Bay Ontario, is enthralled with movies and distraught with his surroundings. Every girl wears ten pounds of make up and has the personality of a clone, every couple sports a tired stare with a marriage’s worth of bitterness. When a chance encounter at a party catches him by surprise, it kick starts a year that will come to define the rest of his life.

Unashamedly poetic, and unapologetically realistic to the thoughts and dialogue of the modern male teenager, The Romantic seeks to inspire all of those dissatisfied with the satisfactory, who dream of a time when they felt the strongest pain, the greatest love, and the most alive.

“The funniest **** I’ve ever read” - Girl from a coffeeshop.
