about me

NEW READING POLICY: I read for pleasure only on this site. Feel free to send me a message if you want me to read your book. That doesn't mean I'll read it, but if it sounds interesting I might (it's helpful if you tell me a bit about your book in the message). BTW: I hate spam, so if you just send a spammy message, I probably won't read your book. I also have a new policy of just backing books I like, and don't always take the time to comment if I don't have anything useful to say. If you want comments, let me know and I'll see what I can do. I also sometimes just walk away from bad books if I have nothing constructive to say.

I'm a professional blogger (techy stuff), writer, and copyeditor living in northern Vermont. I've self-pubbed a non-fiction book but haven't had the time to do much marketing. And at this point I'm considering different avenues with it. I'll update if that ever happens...

In addition to tech articles for some of the most popular blogs in the world, I write sci-fi, fantasy, and women's fiction. I'm obsessed with social media—feel free to friend me on Facebook (you can find me in the Autho group) or follow me on Twitter (http://twitter.com/cameron_chapman).

I have a few works-in-progress at the moment...

I've had a read, as requested. This is just my take on your novel, so please take from it what you want. I've pointed out a lot of the inconsistencies and inaccuracies in what you've written about Vermont. I honestly have to wonder if you've ever spent any time in the state, or just been here on vac... view book

I've got very mixed feelings about this. The exposition at the beginning feels unnecessary to me. If I picked it up in a bookstore, I probably wouldn't buy it because it basically starts with an info dump. You could easily cut the first four paragraphs (maybe weave in the information later) and not ... view book

As requested, I've had a read of your book. I've read everything posted here, and I do have a number of comments. Please remember that this is just one person's opinion. Take from it what you find useful and discard the rest. The style of this reads more like an essay than a novel. It's too forma... view book

As requested, here I am to take a look. Remember, these are just one person's opinions. Take them if they're useful and disregard them if they're not. I've only read the first chapter, but do have some feedback on that: Within the first ten or fifteen paragraphs, you've introduced us to four char... view book

Hey Christy, This has actually been on my shelf for awhile (and I plan to keep it there), but I thought I'd let you know I keep coming back for more and I'm glad you keep uploading new chapters (I've read all 20). A couple of things you might want to consider: a few of the transitions between ... view book
