about me

I started reading when I was four, and upon learning the definition, labeled myself a bibliophile at six. I keep books in every room of the house, in each of my (super cute, designer) purses, in my locker at the gym, and in the backseat of my car. I read while I blowdry my hair. I read while I eat. I even read at stoplights, but don't worry, I haven't gotten in a literary related accident yet!

I guess it makes sense that my obsession with reading turned into an obsession with writing. I fell in love with creative non-fiction my sophmore year of college, and recently graduated from GMU with my BA in Creative Writing. While non-fiction is my first love, I also enjoy writing YA fiction.

As for my work, I think Lifestyles may be more sellable and fun, but Quarter Life is little, actual pieces of my heart, so I think you should read them both if we're going to make this relationship work.

When you are sweet enough to take time to read either book, please pick random chapters so I can well-rounded feedback. Lord knows I need it.

Thanks lovers.
XO

PS. I don't own my cover pictures. The cover for Lifestyles is borrowed from the amazing Roberto Cavalli's Spring 2008 campaign for H&M. Quarterlife's cover I found on a random blog, but I couldn't find any photo credits. So, please don't sue me! XOXO

Lifestyles of the Rich and Inf....

That Girl You Love

Nyx had finally landed both her brooding bassist boyfriend and their band's record deal, but she never counted on an infamous supermodel ruining her life.

A scheming personal trainer sleeps with a newly widowed tycoon. When a surprise pregnancy threatens scandal, the mother demands millions to keep quiet and disappears.

Eighteen years later, Nyx Carrington, notorious for her red lipstick, push up bras, and over-the-top personality, has just snagged the man of her dreams, the brooding bassist AJ Abbott. When her guest appearance with his band results in an offer from a major label, Nyx and her friends are whisked away to Manhattan to meet with executives.

Fate intervenes, and Nyx is reintroduced to her estranged, half-brother. Her brother happens to be best friends with Manhattan's biggest playboy male model, Tristan Halifax. Nyx and Tristan might experience love (or lust) at first sight, but rockstar boyfriends are hard to forget--especially when they keep writing chart topping love songs.

Seemingly overnight, Nyx Carrington is the newest tabloid darling--scandalizing runway shows, frolicking with Manhattan's Golden Boys, and being hounded by photographers. But, what happens when a girl's wildest dreams come true? Maybe infamy isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Quarter Life Crisis

That Girl You Love

If only solving a quarter life crisis was as easy as having an affair in a new sports car. True trials of being twenty-two.

Maybe you forgot what it's like. Your whole world is consumed by insecurities about life and love and the next high. You're young and beautiful, and people love you because you're bubbly and exciting, and you never pay for anything ever because why should you have to? You're in love with someone who will never love you back, but really, it's okay because there's always another person to take his place.

Remember being young and vain and scared and fabulous? Remember teetering on the edge of the real world in too tall heels and bitten down nails?

A collection of short essays about real life in the trenches of almost-adulthood. Pick a chapter, any chapter. LIke life, nothing's in order.

You have great pace--there's nothing I hate worse than slogging through paragraph upon paragraph of exposition. I read through all eight chapters--which is unusual for me on this site, as most books have a hard time holding my attention. What can I say? I like a spunky Southern woman. You do ... view book

I've been off Authonomy for 500 days or so, and wanting to jump back in, I figured I would start with the most popular man here. (Flattery does get you everywhere, right?) You nail the diction of Africans--I've spent summers in Kenya, and you are spot on. I think it's so difficult for authors t... view book

Your pitch is great, and your premise is really interesting. I've only had time to read the first few chapters, but I'm going to shelf it and come back to it later. Nice job. view book

Strong dialogue. Tight narrative. Convincing characters. This was a fast, easy read, so I didn't see any glaring technical errors. I think you're created something pretty entertaining for the YA market. Nice job. That Girl You Love Lifestyles of the Rich and Infamous view book

A lot of times, historical fiction has the tendency to get bogged down with lots of exposition and description. This is a fast read, which is definitely a plus. Your opening line was great, but so was the last line of your first chapter. it's a compelling introduction to what seems to be a comp... view book
