about me

I'm 26 and when not working or helping out St John, I enjoy time with my daughter, who is the reason that I do everything.

I also enjoy playing games, listening to music at full blast, watching movies and going to St John Ambulance training nights.

Pretty much me in a nutshell...

First Draft Finally Finished!!! I'm currently going through it and making improvements. Hopefully will be able to update soon. :)

I have put the prologue down in chapter 9 for a simple reason. All it does is give a background into the creation of the world and how the Beast Tribes came to be and other details like that. It is intentionally drafted to sound archaic in its tones.

favourite books

Of course the Lord of the Rings, all six books, and the Hobbit, although Return of the King is my favourite pair of books. It always irritated me when they killed Saruman off in the movie instead of turning him into Sharkey for Samwise to deal with.

The Elenian & Tamulian, David Eddings. (First set of trilogies I ever read).
The Redemption of Althalus, David Eddings.
The Black Magician, Trudi Canavan. (Really happy that her current trilogy is a follow up of this one.)
His Dark Materials, Phillip Pullman
Raymond E Feists novels. Serpent war and The Conclave of Shadows trilogy stick out the most in my mind out of the Midkemia series of books.

In the Shadow of the Heart

Alan Dartnall

A serial killer is on the loose calling himself Ranger. Gabriel goes in search of his friend, but is it already too late?

A thousand years has passed since Ranger and Gabriel, with the help of Falcor, defeated and repulsed the Dark God Abstrath, However humanity has moved on and the battle has moved into tales of myth and legend, scarcely believed.

Once again a darkness is threatening the world and a serial killer is on the loose, seemingly able to kill at will! As the death toll rises, the hunt is on, spearheaded by Detective Collins, for the fugitive calling himself Ranger! But as he searches, the path leads him into the realms of myth and legend to a more primitive and darker world to find the answers that he seeks.

Gabriel, concerned for Ranger's plight, sets on his own quest to find answers only to find his darkest fears are realised and the forces of the Dark God are on the move once more. Fearing the worst for his friend, he begins to make his own moves to fight the oncoming darkness, but will it be enough?

Meanwhile Ranger is on the prowl, voices mutter from the dark as a new force seeks to overcome him.

The Demon's Vengeance

Alan Dartnall

Jouveno Wolfmane, betrayed and alone, seeks vengeance against the one who destroyed his life; but he soon finds that everything is not as it seems.

Long ago, a war between the Gods tore open the sky and created the demons of nightmares, culminating in the Dark God Abstrath being banished from the mortal plane and sealed within the Netherealm.

Millennia later and that containment is failing, Abstrath is reaching out and gathering his forces once more to take his vengeance upon the planet!

Meanwhile Jouveno Wolfmane, having returned home from a routine mission to find his city in flames and his family slain sets out to find the one responsible. As attacks come from unsuspecting directions, he begins to realise that there is much more to this than meets the eye and it soon becomes clear that everything is connected.

As he encounters new enemies and friends alike, he must also learn to control something that has been buried deep within himself and is now fighting for release!

Can Jouveno stop Abstrath's ploy to escape the Netherealm before the darkness within him takes control and consumes his soul completely?

A fast paced adventure with everything to offer: love, betrayal, anger, bloodshed and freedom.

Cameron, A great read so far. Strong start with great use of language and a story that flows really well. The suspense at the beginning was well built up, showing how even a routine investigation into a malfunction by an expert can still be a daunting task in the world that you portray. I read the beginning part and felt that it was very descriptive, full of emotion and it flowed really well apart from "Some still whole but mostly in pieces." I felt that part broke the flow of the paragraph. An intense read and one that I feel will go far. All the Best Kindest Regards Alan Dar... view book

Really good so far. The characters are detailed and the mystery behind the Orb of Raspion really keeps you reading on. The structure is good and flows well and your use of dialogue moves the story along beautifully. Only a few criticisms. As a fan of David Eddings... An Orb, blue in colour that c... view book

An amusing start and a strong plot line. I found myself intrigued by the plot and the story didnt disappoint :D "i didn't have a game to hide under more!" "pop tarts been took off the menu" Are the only two, i think, that i would revise. Kindest Regards Alan Dartnall ~The Demon's Venge... view book

An all too apt beginning for the novel. Gang warfare is a problem world wide it seems and there are all to many victims from it. A powerful beginning to the story and well written. A must read and a real eye opener. Kindest Regards Alan Dartnall ~The Demon's Vengeance~ view book
