about me

I am writing THE WORLD ACCORDING TO LOVE from my heart and soul. It is my gift to the world - whether it is ever published or not, I trust Love to see that it is read by those who will benefit from it.

I have been a student of metaphysics and spirituality for 40 years. I have written and published numerous magazine articles and a book called DREAM WEAVING: Using Dream Guidance to Create Life's Tapestry. I also write articles for my blog: Building Bridges of Oneness.

When not working on my book or blog I am a life-cycle celebrant - a profession that allows me to employ my love of writing, reading to an audience, and seeing the love shining in the eyes of each bride and groom as they take their vows. I have been married for 34 years and have two adult children -- both creative in art and music!

The World According to Love

Emily VanLaeys

Daring to think outside of all religious boxes, this mix of fact and fantasy illustrates a divine plan that begins and ends with Love.

This is the story of how the divine creator, which is Love, has always been active in the evolution of humanity, and how Love has manifested in the multiple ways that have helped to transform us from primitive warriors to the seekers of enlightenment that so many are today. . This book is based on the belief that imagination can produce valid theories for the answers to life's mysteries, even though they can't be proved by science or backed up by any religious institution. A creative history/theology, "The World According to Love" offers an optimistic viewpoint, featuring a god who is directly involved in human affairs, yet cannot be blamed for the evil and destruction we see around us.

The divine protagonist of this book is simply referred to as Love: the Love that connects with humanity through nature, music, art, literature, religion, community, science, and ceremony. The Love that never gives up trying to awaken us to our true spiritual nature, our oneness with each other and all of creation, and our ability to love and be loved.

Hi Fran, Just wanted to let you know that I have added to chapter four on music. If you have the time and inclination you might like to take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks! Emily view book

I just discovered your book on the editor's desk. Just reading the beginning and end, it's obvious why it's there. Beautiful, powerful prose. Memories of Glory definitely deserves to be in print! Best wishes, Emily VanLaeys Burning the Bridge to Hell view book

I like this beginning way better! I'm afraid the gradual, beginning-with-description style that worked well in 'the old days" just doesn't work for most modern people who don't have the patience of their pre-high-tech ancestors. Emily view book

Excellent beginning. Just the second sentence is a bit awkward. I suggest breaking it into two sentences: An eerie light had pulled me, running toward the window. Please don't let it be fire! view book

I think I'd like this better if it started with the scene. Starting out with so many murders turns me off, but then I'm probably in a minority of readers who avoid murder, mahem, and violence. view book
