about me

My love of history grew from reading my great grandfather's detailed diary of his experiences as a Yankee during America’s Civil War. Summer Rose blossomed from that history.

This historical novel is somewhat disguised as a romance. Refrain from letting that R-word put you off. Foremost, Summer Rose is a story steeped in the rich history of America's Civil War, stretching from Pickett’s Charge that last day at Gettsyburg, through Sheridan’s Ride and the Burning of the Shenandoah to the fall of Richmond and surrender at Appomattox Courthouse.

Readers have given Summer Rose great praise: ”Loved it, loved it and loved it! You developed Daniel (as well as other characters) so well. The writting is so smooth, it supports the characters and the plot. They are so intertwined that one becomes the other. Strong plot, strong characters=one great book.” Another fan wrote: “The passion in this chapter is electric and I think I need to take a cold shower to cool down.” Still another writes: “This needs to be bound in an aged gold-embossed green leather cover, with gold edged pages and a silk placemarker - then I will sit down with it day after day, reading and savouring every word.” Thank you all.

Summer Rose is complete at 120,000+ words, and looking for representation. Please contact me at kcharliehart@gmail.com.

Read Summer Rose, back, and comment. I will read and comment on yours and probably back it as well.

Dear David, I just finished your first chapter. You've put a different twist on a memoir which makes it so refreshing, and the adventure to Russia so intriguing. This is a treasure. Best of luck. I'm so pleased to back your book. Caroline/KC Hart Summer Rose view book

Jill, I sat down to read at lunch and wish I could read your Blood Bugs all afternoon. Wow! You've shot this plot out of a cannon. From mysterious bugs from the forest to hunters in the city. You are a natural. Someone will publish this. Didn't see a nit. I will try to read more. Great. Car... view book

Steve, I applaud your astonishing talent. Although I did not intend to look at all three, you hooked me into to doing so. I only looked at two chapters of the first, and one each of the other books. What struck me immediately was how different each was except each carried threads from the previo... view book
