about me

Reader and writer. Still chasing the dream.

Thank you to all those who have offered good wishes for my mother. She is now (reluctantly) in an old people's home, but recently had a good day celebrating her 97th birthday.

Thank you also to all who have so generously backed and commented on Mother Goodby's Monster. I am about to do a major re-write, so I have deleted the book in the meantime.

Thank you again.

I've read the first four sections and liked it enough to back it. I'm afraid an ignoramous like me could do with a translation of the Talleyrand, and I got the impression that the public school knowledge came from experience? Good luck. Colet view book

There is some lovely writing here, but I found myself asking again and again 'Who is this written for?' It started off with a little boy, and got into fishing, and I thought it was going to be a children's book. Then years passed with great speed - the sister's qualifications would take her to at le... view book

What a brilliant (though subversive) premise. Lovely writing. Backed with pleasure. Colet view book

I really liked the first paragraph of this, but having read on, in the end I was disappointed. Although most of the writing was good, some of the descriptions seemed to be 'pasted on' - like, here is a place where I ought to put in a description. They often seemed to interrupt the flow, rather than ... view book
