about me

I had my book on here for a while. I withdrew it to send around. It hit with new publisher Unthank Books, and was published by them in April 2011.

It has been re-titled Laikonik Express, and appears under my real name, Nick Sweeney.

It's a road novel, albeit set on trains, a story about friendship, primarily, and love, about writing, and why some of us write, about travelling and being adrift in the world. Two 30-something American slackers hare through 1992 Poland in search of a woman one of them has met, fleetingly, on the train of the title. Vodka appears among the churches and chimneys of a resurgent Poland, but so does a kind of redemption. Laikonik Express is a comic novel, and has received a few rave reviews.
