As a young 27 yr old South Australian, I spend my time between writing, revising, editing and reading my novels as well as caring for my 6 yr old son. Between writing and homely duties, I enjoy curling up with a book that draws you right into the pages.

Shadowed Dreams and Rippled Wa....

Laura Bryan

Lucy Birdsly can see the future in a world beyond ours, in the shadowy recesses of her mind.

There is something familiar to Lucy about the sudden death of her beloved Dad. It has all happened before.

Since watching her life unravel before her eyes, everything is different. No one in her family is the same and now her oldest brother, Dean, is the only anchor, keeping her feet on solid ground.

Life must move on, until a faital disaster strikes the Birdsly home. Again this all seem's familiar, why?

Her questions are answered when she finds herself in a unusual dream-state world, with her Dad standing right before her.

A deeply hidden family secret is uncovered, destroying everything Lucy has known, forever. With her nights now tainted by dream-visions, Lucy must learn to deal with it before she can find herself and learn to trust again.

(The first of the Dream-Vision Trilogy)

Mysteries of a Shallow Grave

Laura Bryan

You'll never try and miss another day of school again. For, he's watching you and to him, you're killable.

Michael, Tristan, Alex, Brendon and Kyle thought skipping a day at school and hiking through the overgrown field by their bus stop was a better way to spend their time.

When they venture into this place, strange things start to happen, voices, supernatural winds and the aroma of death. It's then they realise it was a bad idea. The deeper they go the more dangerous it becomes, until one by one they go missing.

***

It's been five years since Michael escaped that field. Now left condemned to life couped up in a mental institution, he must recall what happened that day to set himself free.

Tristan, the only other survivor is left a paralysed mute, harbouring his own little secret power. Can he recover to save Michael from his personal hell?

This is a working progress so it is raw and unedited.

Break Free. Utopia!

Laura Bryan

In a world infested by a killing virus, one child and one parent from every family is given a chance to live.

Utopia, we all know it means utter perfection, peace and tranquillity. For me – Sari O’Brian, it’s a word that brings dread and the return of tainted memories from the past. I hear this word and want to run far from the speaker, so far the world can no longer reach my ears.

You see, Utopia is a place – I lived in this place for twenty years. All that time all I wanted to do was break free to find a world beyond.

When you’re trapped behind a dome wall for most of your life, you too would try and find a way to escape. Follow me on a harrowing journey, mixed with trauma, sorrow and the need for freedom.

Magic Within The Waves

Laura Bryan

Do you believe in fairytales? For teenager Melinda Brown they do exist, they are a part of her life, her desires.

Believing in magic is the one thing that keeps Melinda strong after the untimely death of her Mother. There’s only one problem. This miraculous world, a world her Mother believed in wholeheartedly, is just beyond her reach.

That all changes when she literally falls into the arms of rogue and handsome school boy, Thomas Gavins. There’s something familiar about his eyes, something pulling her deep into them.

Now there are impossible things happening around her – magical creatures appearing as if from nowhere.

Is it real or just a dream? And does Thomas know more than she realises?

Join Melinda on a journey, recovering from the death of a loved one while searching for a cure to save another. You will find yourself falling into a world where nothing is as it seems and magic is everywhere.

HCG Sorry for the late response but I’m here to review “Bite Mark” What I have read so far is almost like poetry through the mind of the beast. Having written a werewolf novel myself I’m enjoying the differences. It moves at a great pace and has all the elements of a great wolf story. Laura view book

HCG “Spawn of Lilith” Sorry it took so long, life’s been a little hectic, but I’m here to review “Spawn of Lilith” Brilliant, well-written, loved reading every minute of it. Thank you all for your time and honest comments. I was very nervous about it, now I’m glad I joined the Horror Critic Group. I'm working on changing a few things as we speak. HCG Review In chapter 1 was drawn in by the descriptions, only to be distracted by the layout. It was a little over the place. Chapter two was much easier to read. Though I’m afraid what I have read so far, is excellent, it doesn’t quite fall under the horror genre, more of a fantasy. In a way... view book
