And The Beat Goes On!!
After much reflection and thought on the things that I have recently learned about the publishing industry, I decided to start my own small press. I have my FEIN (tax ID number) and my LLC application is in, set for a January 1, 2011 Start Up date. OH JOY!!
I have coerced a couple of my coworkers into helping me. Namely our best accountant and our attorney, whose names I will not reveal because they would most likely kill me and the dream is yet too young to die. As one of my books seemed to be of interest to agents at the conference I have decided that I will be the initial crash test dummy of my company. I will publish one of my books myself as MDCT Publishing LLC’s first title as I follow the traditional route with another of my titles.
We will have a website for public viewing soon complete with a submissions page. I am however looking for an editor and a few other necessary staff before I jump completely off the deep end.
I think that I will sponsor a fiction contest on my site and see how that works out!
