about me

God is first in my heart and in my life. He is my joy. He really is everything in life for me.

I do love to read good books, the Bible being the best of all books ever written in my opinion. As for my own writing, I have been writing short stories and such for several years and some of my work has been posted at various online websites, such as The Short Story Exchange, My Web Press Journal, Writers Hood, The Christian Articles Website, and a few others.

Now that I have Burst of Salt on the page I wanted to update my profile. In posting this my expectation is not that it will eventually translate into something of monetary value but rather it is a way to use whatever ability I have as a writer to share my faith in Christ and hope that it inspires those who read it.

Thanks and gratitude to the lovely and incredibly talented Ms Carrie L. McRae (author of Dust in The Wind) who designed the cover for Burst of Salt

IMPORTANT UPDATE: I've told several people I will take a look at their books and I've tried to do my best to read and make comments. There have been some books that have a great deal of bad language and sexual references and I've taken a quick look and have not gone back. Therefore, if your book falls into that category you can be sure I won't want to read it and that's why I'm posting this here in order that you can know ahead of time what my preference is.

Otherwise I do enjoy reading books and I enjoy helping out by leaving comments and such. I find this to be a very good website for writers. I know I'm learning as I go and gaining knowledge from the comments I read. Thanks to all those who have been very helpful to me.

BURST OF SALT

Julie Miller

It is through God's Spirit that we gain understanding and it is an understanding God is willing to give to all who ask.

I like to draw on the clarity of God's word and offer the testimony of inspired writings. Jesus said that salt should have flavor, but if we choose the world we lose that flavor. We need to grasp the strength of God's love and when we do that the experience is life changing.

Dianna, I consider your writing to be of high quality and the storyline you've chosen to be one of great and deep meaning. As you know I have read your book and commented at length and I cannot tell you how glad I am to see your book reach the editor's desk. Remember that you have huge support fr... view book

Pat, I did sit down tonight and did some reading of your book. I had to jump over from chapter one to three because for some reason the second chapter wouldn't come through, but I did eventually get it to show up on the page. Anyway, this is a wonderful book. I love the scripture verses and I l... view book

DM You have such a strong voice which is displayed in this story. I love your style and your energy. I have been glued to this story for about 2 hours. The things you have endured in life are hard for me to fathom, but the way you express it is almost always with an optimism such as "I have lear... view book

Faith, What a beautifully written memoir. Written from the very depths of your heart. I am so affected by this that I don't know quite what to say. I love the entire thing, but I found myself reacting most strongly to the chapter when you talked about your husband and his past memories of athlet... view book

Shelby, ahoy there! I have read through the last completed chapter and it was good reading all the way. I love the storyline you've chosen. I consider it highly unique - the idea of a little girl being raised on a pirate ship. And I sort of cringed at the thought but I suppose it's because all... view book
