about me

I was a graduate of Bealart (London, Ontario, Canada) 1985-1987, as a Film Major and Photography Minor. I went on to study 16mm Film Production at the London International Film School (London, England) in 1987. In 1988 I was invited by a fellow film school student to work on a documentary film in Cairo, Egypt, and spent six months there, assisting on two productions and writing a speculative screenplay. While in Pasadena, California,1989-1990, I wrote and produced my first professional company promotional video for an international missions agency. It wasn't until 2004 that my first book was published, a kids, action/adventure, Lost Ark Found (2005). I was inspired to write it while deployed for six-months with the Canadian Armed Forces in the Golan Heights (Israel/Syria) working as a Peace Keeper. Initially, I read it to my preteen kids over long distance phone calls to entertain them while being away so long. My second book, A Silent Violence, was published in 2008. Much of this, as well, I wrote while I was on tours with the Canadian Armed Forces. My third book, a novella, Dance With Me, was just released as an e-book in March 2011 is now available in full through most online e-book stores.

Carl Guiness' faith is put to the test when he learns that the tavern he partly owns is a front for illegal gang activity.

Carl Guiness' new found faith is put to the test when he learns that the tavern he jointly owns with his wife, in the picturesque Comox Valley of Vancouver Island, B.C., is actually a front for illegal gang activity. When Carl contacts the police to deal with this, within days an attempt is made on his life. Left for dead, dumped in a river, Carl quickly learns, there are few he can trust. Fleeing, to stay alive, he takes shelter in the Gulf Islands, led by a supernatural force into the greatest conflict he has ever experienced.
A screenplay based on Dance With Me is presently available in full at Studio Amazon.

Dianna, Thanks for your encouraging comments, and rating. I'm on the 12th chapter of your manuscript, and so far find it a compelling read. More to follow. God Bless, Rob Sargeant Dance With Me view book

Hi James, Thanks for your feedback. My understanding is that Zondervan, the largest Christian book publisher, is a division of Harper Collins. So, I'm sure they'll pass along any promising manuscripts to them. God Bless, Rob view book

I've added your book to my bookshelf and am now on chapter 2. The characters are well developed, and the conflict set up between the two sisters defined. Interesting read so far. Rob view book

Hi Guy, The first chapter has hooked me. I've added you to my watch list and will read more later. It seems to be dealing with the same theme as my fictional book, Dance With Me. The main character in my book hears the voice of God audibly ask him to dance, and he is soon taken on an adventure, con... view book
