Isis McGee & the Differlings: ....

JR Self

A rebellious teenager joins forces with a band of faeries to stop a supernatural predator that threatens both their home and their lives.

Expelled from school for the umpteenth time, forced to work as a maid in an old hotel was about the worst way Isis McGee could think to spend the last few weeks of the semester, let alone the entire summer break! Especially when her parents, as usual, were in some exotic location digging up mummies and who knew what else?!

But Isis soon discovers that the "haunted" hotel has a lot more secrets than even its own brochures let on. It begins with odd noises, furtive laughter, and then Isis' stuff goes missing . Then she sees tiny people-like creatures with amazing abilities! Is she losing her mind? And then there's her grandmother's friend, a wierd old guy positively reeking of creepiness and foul play.

When she finally comes face to face with the faeries, called Differlings, Isis learns an evil force known as a Skinwalker has invaded the hotel, and already killed at least once. Knowing they can't defeat the creature alone, Isis enlists the aid of her new friend, a strikingly handsome bellman. But even with the Differlings' powerful abilities on their side, how can two teenagers stop something so powerful, especially when no one will believe them?

thank you for bringing the sister physically into the story in chapter 6 - as his twin, I've been curious to see if Lexie will also develop powers of her own. Nothing so far, but still many chapters to go. I like Leesha's character. At first her dialogue seemed a little forced or just formal, but I ... view book

You have me as curious and intrigued as Adam is about what Chris is up to. Also wanted to thank you for passing on th... view book

I'm enjoying your story a lot so far. As a comic book fan I think you are doing a great job with the emergence of Sam's abilities. The family dog in chapter 2 caught me a little off guard as it was never mentioned as being in the house in his first sensory overload, but other than that - Sam's chara... view book

I am really enjoying your story. I've only gotten through a few chapters, but I'm hooked. You characters have a lot of - well, character. Having Trav be a bit older, with a son and an ex, is a nice change from the normal "boy meets dragon" stories out there. I am looking forward to the rest of the s... view book
