The Importance of Being Arthur....

Philip Bradbury

Arthur dreams of being James Bond, Mary of wealth and romance. A lord’s burglary brings their dreams and fears crashing together with unexpectedly synchronistic results.

Two stories intertwined:
1. A group of unlikely people are thrown together against a backdrop of police corruption, banking fraud, government negligence and international conspiracy, to bring free-energy technology to the world.
2. People trapped in their meaningless lives, jobs and relationships and who, through unexpected and traumatic events, find talents and passions they never knew of, along with new ways to make a difference.
ACourseinMiracles inspired story of hope and humour.

Arthur, Mary and a cast of unlikely associates fall into the fearful world of international espionage and the politics of greed. Despite (or because of) the uncertainty and physical danger, they eventually, in their individual ways, find release from boredom and discover love and a totally new way of being. They also discover the futility of trying to be someone else (e.g. James Bond) and the importance of being themselves … in one case, the importance of being Arthur.

The novel is based on actual events and technologies and the two stories come together with humour, hope and, eventually, the triumph of good over evil … sort-of.

The Importance of Being Arthur is complete and looking for representation. Agents please contact me at:philip@bbcorp.info

Dear Susie, Wow! What can a bloke say! I'm astounded at your amazingly enthusiastic and supportive comments and that you've obviously 'got it'. I've just had a review from a friend whose life has kinda' petered out and he hates Arthur (pathetic etc etc) - I suspect that Arthur pushes my friend's bu... view book

Hi Blueboy, Would "The Day The Grumpy Angel Smiled" be a more catchy title? Any ideas? I'm well aware that any title I give my manuscript will be chanhed by the time it gets to publication so I'm not too hooked on the title ... any title, actually. I want the content to grab and then the grabber... view book
