Profile update!

I have been rather a hermit for a while, due to various happenings. A friend told me not to say too much on the internet, so suffice to say. I am emerging back into the world again, not psyically fit yet, but getting there!

My book, Keeper of the Enchanted Pool, was published on 1st March! The publisher is YouWriteOn.com. I am very happy with the result and it is selling all over the world, including Chicago, already. Nepetism rules!

Lorraine's idea of opening with a dream scene was brilliant, thank you love.

A big thank you to everyone that has helped me transform my book in the way of reviews and suggestions.

This is only the beginning...

favourite books

My most recent favourite, making me probably the last person to read it, is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J. K. Rowling. A delightfully refreshing story.

Christine and the Stand are my favourite Stephen King novels, but I love all his work.

The Odd Thomas books by Dean Koontz are my favourites of his more recent work. I love the humour he injects, even at scary moments. Clever and brilliant.

Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. I especially love Mark Anthony's funeral speech to the crowd after Caesar is slain. Turning the crowd around with his use of 'honourable men' is absolute genius. There have been many occasions when certain people have brought those lines to mind. Brilliant portrayal by Marlon Brando, too.

Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw is another favourite.

There are too many to list here. I could go on ad infinitum.

Keeper of the Enchanted Pool -....

Lucy Fox

Talking gorillas, ghastly pygmies, Pipples? Lottie, is amazed to have the Pipples ability for telepathy and teleportation, but this is only the beginning...

Lottie’s life changes following the loss of her parents, who were aboard the Titanic. The arrival of her guardian, Uncle Thomas, at the Edwardian estate of her father, spells disaster for Lottie. Morath watches Lottie in visions on his pools surface. Through dreams, she is led to find magic chalks on a beach. With her friend Bertie’s help, she draws a rainbow entrance on a cliff face leading to Entransia. They are met by the Pipples, led by Otto, who escorts them to Morath. He uses the pool to show Lottie how she arrived in the land of the humans, and how it’s time she returned to be queen. Her mission, accompanied by Otto and a small army, is to rescue Zultar, acting Crown Prince of Entransia, from Fala’s dungeon.

Morath forbids Bertie to go, but whilst following Lottie, falls into a trap set by the real Uncle Thomas. Led there by Fala, in the guise of a fellow soldier, Thomas thinks himself still at war. Lottie rescues Zultar, but Bertie is captured. She executes a plan to save Bertie and defeat Fala. Lottie is delighted that her father is at home on her return.

Well done, Steve, a terrific read and right up my street as I have written a crime/thriller aswell. It was read and praised by an ex senior police officer who said my reasearch was correct and authentic and I used SOCO, too. And HOLMES. Very clever and intriguing plot that is well written.
